Agreed that the headers as they stand aren't all that great - they aren't as useful as they could be. 

In principle though I think they could be helpful. The original text didn't have headers - but then again it didn't have paragraphs, punctuation or spaces between words. Like paragraphs, word spaces etc headers can help a reader orient themselves - work out where they are. 

(On the other hand, too many or bad headers can close down possibilities for the reader - telling them what to think rather than helping them encounter the text for themselves)

All of the mainstream commercial translations have headers of some sort. I think we need some, but maybe we can do better than what we have at the moment?

The Birth, Parentage and Infancy

The Preparation

The Work in Galilee

Consider removing all of these....
