Thread for consistant word translations

Timchambers

Depending on exact usage, I think where the New Testament uses the word "Haima" to describe the blood shed by Christ's sacrifice, that it is interesting to translate it using the word "bloodshed" versus simply "blood." That seems accurate to the greek, but I leave it to others who know more to comment:

Also depending on context, where the word "kosmos" seems to refer to the entire created order of existence, that it would be better to translate that "cosmos" than "world."

But perhaps look at other defintions when it clearly means "world order" or human kind.

What do you think of those two ideas? I figure this thread can cover other such word choices, and then apply them consistantly throughout the OEB New Testament.
